Pink is important and, if you ask the Susan G. Komen organization, there’s not enough pink as long as 40,000 women and men continue to die each year in the U.S. from breast cancer. Komen also has a "bold goal" to reduce the nation's 40,000 breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in 10 years, by improving access to quality and timely cancer care for the underserved and enhancing Komen’s research focus on lethal breast cancers.

Commemorates the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day

Beverly Hills, CA... Pearl Harbor and the Day of Infamy, a 24-page comic book, distributed under Monroe Publication's World War II Comix imprint, is being published as part of the 75th Anniversary commemoration of the attack which occurred on December 7, 1941.

This short graphic history of the shocking events of Pearl Harbor Day details the true events of what President Franklin D. Roosevelt called “a date which will live in infamy” in his message to the U. S. Congress to ask for a declaration of war in response to Japan’s surprise attack on America’s principal military stronghold in the Pacific.

 “We believe this novel form of presenting actual events in American history will capture the interest of new readers, particularly young people,” suggests author Jay Wertz, who has written multiple books about World War II. “The impact of the sacrifices made by brave Americans at Pearl Harbor and elsewhere is too important to become lost or misunderstood. In some small way, we hope this comic will help preserve that history.”

Starting with the background of Japan’s rise to military prominence and the Asian country’s aggressive behavior toward its neighbors, the work, illustrated by comic book artist Ed Jiménez, covers all the significant events leading up to that fateful aerial attack. Japan’s simultaneous surprise attacks in the Philippines and elsewhere in Asia and the Pacific are included, as is America’s reaction to the bombing of Hawaii.

Pearl Harbor and the Day of Infamy also includes the introduction to a serialized adventure graphic novel set during the War in the Pacific entitled Separated by War, illustrated by noted European military artist Jim Grivalds. The serialization will continue in future issues of World War II Comix’ accounts of other World War battles including Bataan and Corregidor, The Battle of Midway, Saipan and Iwo Jima.

It is autographed by Bruce Brown, the two surfers who starred in the film, Mike Hynson and Robert August, and John Van Hamersveld, who designed the iconic promotional poster for the film. This concept was born through the suggestion of a travel agent to Bruce Brown during the planning stages of the film. By Western standards, Omo Valley's vital tribal life is difficult. Yet they maintain great beauty and resilient joy. Unfortunately, that life will soon disappear with rapidly approaching progress and civilization.

For the business owner, the questions boil down to three: Do they want to pay a huge minimum fee? Do they agree with the advice that they received from the name-brand bank? If so, do they want to take all the risk of implementing those things?

The higher selling price of the company is only a potential; it’s not really accurate to say that it’s the price that a seller could have gotten, because that’s a hypothetical valuation.   The winners will receive their awards at the Peace in the Streets Global Film Festival 2015 Awards Luncheon on December 2 in the United Nations Delegate Dining Room in New York City.

The over-whelming success of 2014 festival Peacemaker Corps facilitated a partnership with PLURAL+ Film Festival support by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the International Office of Migration. Our winners will meet youths from around the world and spend time in works shops and panel discussions. Their evening Gala will be held at the Paley Media Center on December 3.
